It is only possible to carry out effective sterilization after the completion of effective cleaning and disinfection. Please ensure that, as part of your responsibility for the sterility of products during use, only sufficiently validated equipment and product-specific procedures are used for cleaning/disinfection and sterilization, and that the validated parameters are adhered to during every cycle.

Il n’est possible d’effectuer une stérilisation efficace qu’une fois le nettoyage et la désinfection terminées. Assurez-vous,dans le cadre de votre responsabilité de la stérilité des produits pendant l’utilisation, que seul un équipement suffisamment validé et des procédures spécifiques au produit, sont utilisés pour le nettoyage/désinfection et la stérilisation et que les paramètres validés sont respectés pendant chaque cycle.

Please also observe the applicable legal requirements in your country as well as the hygiene regulations of the hospital or clinic. This applies especially also with regard to the additional requirements for the inactivation of prions.

Bien respecter également les contraintes juridiques de votre pays ainsi que les réglementations relatives à l’hygiène de l’hôpital ou de la clinique. Ceci s’applique en particulier aussi en ce qui concerne les impératifs supplémentaires relatifs à l’inactivation des prions.

Eine wirksame Sterilisation kann nur nach Abschluss einer wirksamen Reinigung und Desinfektion durchgeführt werden. Bitte stellen Sie sicher, dass, als Teil Ihrer Verantwortung für die Sterilität der Produkte während der Verwendung, nur ausreichend validierte Instrumente und produktspezifische Verfahren für die Reinigung/Desinfektion und Sterilisation verwendet werden und dass die gültigen Parameter während jedem Zyklus eingehalten werden.

Bitte beachten Sie auch die zutreffenden gesetzlichen Regelungen in Ihrem Land sowie die Hygienevorschriften des Krankenhauses oder der Klinik; dies gilt besonders auch hinsichtlich der zusätzlichen Anforderungen für die Inaktivierung von Prionen.

The post-operative treatment must be carried out immediately, nevertheless within a max. of 30 minutes at the latest after the completion of the operation. Additional information, where necessary, is provided in the respective product specific usage instructions.

Le traitement postopératoire doit être effectué immédiatement, au plus tard toutefois dans un maximum de 30 minutes après l’opération. Des informations supplémentaires sont données, si nécessaire, dans les instructions d’utilisation respectives spécifiques au produit.

1. Rinse away any surface soiling on the product with distilled deionized water or with a cleaning agent.

2. Rinse through all lumina (e.g. irrigation and aspiration connection) at least 3 times in the normal direction of flow (no back rinsing) using a disposable syringe (min. volume 50 ml) filled with distilled/deionized water applied to the back nozzle.

2. Rincer l’intérieur de tout orifice (par ex. raccord d’irrigation et d’aspiration) au moins 3 fois dans le sens normal de l’écoulement (pas de rinçage inverse) en utilisant une seringue jetable (volume min. 50 ml) remplie d’eau distillée/déminéralisée appliquée à la buse arrière.

3. An aldehyde-free cleaning and disinfection solution that is compatible with the products may also be used as an alternative rinsing solution. In such cases, it is necessary to rinse through afterwards at least 3 times with distilled, or deionized water.

3. Une solution de nettoyage et de désinfection sans aldéhyde, compatible avec les produits, peut être également utilisée comme solution de rinçage de remplacement. Dans ce cas, il est nécessaire de rincer à fond après coup au moins 3 fois avec de l’eau distillée ou déminéralisée.

2. Spülen Sie alle Lumina (z.B. Spülungs- und Ansauganschlüsse) mindesten 3 Mal in der normalen Flussrichtung (keine Spülung gegen die Flussrichtung) unter Verwendung einer Einwegspritze (Mindestvolumen 50 ml), die mit destilliertem/entionisiertem Wasser gefüllt ist und an der hinteren Düse angebracht ist.

3. Eine Aldehyd-freie Reinigungs- und Desinfektionslösung, die mit den Produkten kompatibel ist (siehe Abschnitt Lebensdauer) kann ebenso als alternative Spülungslösung verwendet werden; in diesen Fällen muss anschliessend mindestens 3 Mal mit destilliertem oder entionisiertem Wasser durchgespült werden.

Disinfection must be performed within 2 hours at the maximum following the cleaning phase.

La désinfection doit débutée dans un délai de 2 heures au maximum après la phase de nettoyage.

A cleaning and disinfection machine procedure (disinfector) should always be used for cleaning / disinfection because of the increased effectiveness of this method.

Une machine de nettoyage et désinfection (désinfecteur) devrait toujours être employé pour le nettoyage / désinfection en raison de la plus grande efficacité de cette méthode.

Zur Reinigung / Desinfektion sollte immer ein maschinelles Reinigungs- bzw. Desinfektionsverfahren (Desinfektionsapparat) eingesetzt werden, da diese Methode sehr viel wirksamer ist.

Steps for manual cleaning

1. Place the products in the cleaning solution for, as a minimum, the time and at the concentration specified by the manufacturer of the cleaning / disinfection agent.

2. Remove any externally-attached soiling by brushing carefully with a soft brush or a soft cloth.

3. Rinse the products vigorously at least five times, each time with fresh distilled or deionized water (product lumina each with at least 50 ml water). Repeat the cleaning process if the last rinsing does not run clear, or if visible soiling still exists on the product.

3. Rincer les produits vigoureusement au moins cinq fois, à chaque fois avec de l’eau fraîche distillée ou déminéralisée (chaque orifice du produit avec au moins 50 ml d’eau). Répéter le processus de nettoyage si le dernier rinçage ne coule pas clairement ou s’il y a encore des traces de salissures sur le produit.

2. Äussere Verschmutzungen vorsichtig mit einer weichen Bürste oder einem weichen Tuch entfernen. 3. 1. Rinse the products carefully at least five times, each time with fresh distilled or deionized water (each product lumen with at least 50 ml of water). Repeat the cleaning process if the last rinsing does not run clear, or if stains are still visible on the product.

1. Rincer les produits scrupuleusement au moins cinq fois, à chaque fois avec de l’eau fraîche distillée ou déminéralisée (chaque orifice du produit avec au moins 50 ml d’eau). Répéter le processus de nettoyage si l’eau du dernier rinçage n’est pas limpide, ou s’il y a encore des traces de salissure visibles sur le produit.

1. Spülen Sie die Produkte kräftig mindestens fünf Mal jeweils mit frischem destillierten oder entionisiertem Wasser (Produkt-Lumina jeweils mit mindestens 50 ml Wasser). Wiederholen Sie den Reinigungsvorgang, wenn die letzte Spülung nicht klar durchläuft oder wenn im Produkt immer noch sichtbare Verschmutzungen vorhanden sind.

2. Clean all the surface with alcohol based disinfection wipes, according to the specification of the manufacturer of the cleaning / disinfection agent. 3. Dry the products with filtered compressed air (max. 3 bars).

4. Envelopper les produits immédiatement après désinfection et séchage (voir la section Emballage et stérilisation). Si nécessaire, effectuer un séchage additionnel dans un lieu propre et adapté.

1. Place the products in the disinfection solution for, as a minimum, the time specified by the manufacturer of the disinfection agent. Use an aldehyde-free disinfection solution for cleaning general and surgical instruments.

4. Wrap the products directly following disinfection and drying (see section Packaging and sterilization). If necessary, repeat drying of the product in a clean place.

Do not exceed the max.number of sterilization cycles of products according to their directions for use.

Only cleaned and disinfected products are permitted to be sterilized. Prior to sterilization, the products need to be placed in a suitable sterilization container:

• in accordance with EN 868 and ISO 11607, • resistant to 138°C, with adequate steam permeability, • maintained on a regular basis.

If double, single-use sterilization packaging (double bag) is to be used, this must also comply with EN 868 and ISO 11607 and be suitable for steam sterilization (temperature resistant to 138°C, with adequate steam permeability).

Si un emballage double de stérilisation à usage unique (sac double) doit être utilisé, cette utilisation doit être également conforme à l’EN 868 et ISO 11607 et convenir à la stérilisation à la vapeur (résistant à la température de 138°C avec une perméabilité à la vapeur adéquate).

Use only the following listed steam sterilization procedures for sterilization; other sterilization procedures are not permissible: • Fractional pre-vacuum procedure*. • Steam sterilizer in accordance with EN 13060 or EN 285 validated in accordance with AAMI TIR No. 12, DIN EN ISO 14161, DIN EN 556 (with EN IS0 17665) (valid commissioning and product-specific performance assessment (valid DQ, IQ, OQ and PQ). • Maximum sterilization temperature 134°C (+4°C tolerance as per EN 554, IS0 11134 (as per: EN IS0 17665). *Fractional pre-vacuum procedure = steam sterilization with repetitive pre-vacuum. 26

Utiliser uniquement les procédures de stérilisation à la vapeur mentionnées ci-après pour la stérilisation, les autres méthodes de stérilisation ne sont pas admises: • Procédure fractionnée au vide préalable. • Stérilisateur à la vapeur selon EN 13060 ou EN 285 agréé conformément à l’AAMI TIR N°12, à la DIN EN ISO 14161, à la DIN EN 556 (avec EN ISO 17665) (mise en service valable et évaluation des performances spécifiques au produit (DQ, IQ, OQ et PQ valable). • Température de stérilisation maximum 134°C (+4°C de tolérance selon EN 554, ISO 11134 (selon: EN ISO 17665).

Nur gereinigte und desinfizierte Produkte dürfen sterilisiert werden. Vor der Sterilisierung müssen die Produkte in einen wie folgt geeigneten Sterilisationsbehälter gegeben werden: • gemäss EN 868 und ISO 11607, • temperaturbeständig bis 138°C bei angemessener Dampfdurchlässigkeit, • regelmässige Wartung. Soll eine doppelte Einwegsterilisationsverpackung (Doppelbeutel) verwendet werden, muss diese ebenfalls der EN 868 und ISO 11607 entsprechen und für Dampfsterilisation geeignet sein (temperaturbeständig bis 138°C bei angemessener Dampfdurchlässigkeit). Verwenden Sie nur die im Folgenden aufgeführten Dampfsterilisationsverfahren; andere Sterilisationsverfahren sind nicht zulässig: • Partielles Vorvakuumverfahren. • Dampfsterilisator gemäss EN 13060 oder EN 285, bestätigt gemäss AAMI TIR Nr. 12, DIN EN ISO 14161, DIN EN 556 (bei EN ISO 17665) (gültige Inbetriebnahme- und produktspezifische Leistungsbewertung – gültige DQ, IQ, OQ und PQ). • Sterilisationstemperatur von höchstens 134° C (Toleranz von +4° C gemäss EN 554, ISO 11134 (gemäss EN ISO 17665).
