ENDOSCOPE CLEANING GUIDE GF-UCT180 Linear EUS Scope

WARNING:This guide is only a summary of the steps necessary to properly clean your endoscope. Be sure to follow the
detailed steps outlined in the INSTRUCTION MANUAL

If a leak is detected, the endoscope must be repaired. Follow the manufacturer's instructions.
While immersed:

Brush the groove of the interior of the forceps elevator (left).
Attach leakage tester. Turn on pump. Immerse endoscope in clean water. Perform leakage test (angulate tip). Remove from water. Detach tester from the air source. After the tip has deflated, detach the tester from the water-resistant cap.
While immersed:

Immers e in fres hly prepared detergent solution. Clean all external surfaces. Brush endoscope distal tip (and forceps-elevator, as follows).
While immersed:

Ensure elevator is lowered. While holding the distal end, brush the groove of the interior of the forceps elevator (middle) of the instrument channel opening from the distal end with the MAJ-1534 Cleaning Brush until all debris is removed.

Brush the groove of the interior of the forceps elevator (left).
Raise the forceps elevator. While holding the distal end, brush both sides (left and right; see step 6) of the forceps elevator and the opposite side of the groove (back) of the forceps elevator with the MAJ-1534 Cleaning Brush until all debris is removed.

Brush the distal end of the endoscope, using the MAJ-1534 Cleaning Brush. Raise and lower the forceps elevator 3 times.

With the forceps elevator raised, flush behind the forceps elevator with detergent solution using a 30 ml syringe.
Brush the balloon channel. Repeat until all debris is removed.

Brush the univers a l cord portion of the suction channel. Repeat until all debris is removed.
Brush the ins ertion tube portion of the suction channel. Repeat until all debris is removed.
Brush the suction cylinder and instrument channel port. Repeat until all debris is removed.
Attach suction valve. Aspirate detergent, then air into suction and balloon channels.
Attach injection tube & channel plug. Flush 150mls of detergent solution into air, water, and balloon channels. Detach the injection tube and channel plug, and leave them immersed.

Flush 15mls of detergent solution into elevator-wire channel, using the washing tube. Disconnect the washing tube from the endoscope and immerse in detergent solution.
Wipe down endoscope with a lint-free cloth. Soak in detergent solution for the time recommended by the detergent manufacturer.

Do not hit the distal end of the endoscope against hard surfaces.
Flus h clea n wa ter through a ll cha nnels (including elevator-wire channel). Flush air through all channels.
IMPORTANT • Wear all appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Meticulous cleaning is essential for effective disinfection.
• Be sure to reprocess all
removable parts (e.g. valves) according to the instruction manual.
Use a soft, lint-free cloth to remove excess moisture from the endoscope and cleaning accessories in preparation for disinfection.
Do not forget to attach waterresistant caps.
• Visually inspect the equipment after cleaning. If debris remains, repeat the procedure.
• MAJ-1534 Cleaning Brush is autoclavable.
