1588 AIM Camera Extension Cable 1588–000–080
1 ������� �������������������� ��� The 1 5 8 8 A I M C a m e r a E x t e n s i o n C a b l e is a hospital-grade, multiple-use extension cable that allows placement flexibility for the 1588 AIM Camera in the surgical facility. The cable length is 20 feet (6.1 m). The extension cable is intended for use only with 1588 Camera Heads (1588-210-105, 1588-310-130, 1588-610-122, or 1588710-105). On each end of the extension cable are connectors that attach to the camera head and the 1588 AIM Camera Control Unit (1588010-000).

To avoid product damage and potential harm to the user, read and understand this user guide prior to using the device.

Before using this device, read the 1588 AIM Video Camera user guide (Stryker part P29923 or P29924) for warnings, indications, and other information about using the camera system.
3.
Federal law (United States of America) restricts this device to use by, or on order of, a physician.
4.
Carefully unpack the device and check if any damage occurred during shipment.
5.
Inspect the device (including connectors) for any visible damage, such as cracking or chipping, prior to use. Do not use the device if it is damaged.
6.
Test the device function prior to use. If there is any sign of malfunction, the device should not be used and returned to Stryker for repair evaluation.
7.
Only connect items to the extension cord that have been specified for use with it. Connecting incompatible equipment might cause unexpected results.
8.
Do not use multiple extension cables.
9.
Always position the device in a manner that prevents the user from tripping and/or accidentally disconnecting the device.
10. Be sure that all connections are made properly and no liquid is present between the extension cable and the console or the camera head cable. Connection of wet accessories may lead to electrical shock or electrical short.

Do not sterilize the device or immerse it in liquid.
2.
Do not severely bend the device or damage may result.
3.
Excessive treading may lead to damage of the device.
4.
No modification of this device is authorized by Stryker.
4 ����� 1.
Press the extension cable connectors into the 1588 Camera Head and the 1588 AIM Camera Control Unit. The arrows must be aligned on the devices for correct fit.

Tighten the seal between the extension cable and the camera cable by twisting the locking collar clockwise.
5 ��������������� If a problem with image quality is discovered when the 1588 extension cable is connected to the camera system, connect a different 1588 Camera Head. Some 1588 Camera Heads may not be compatible with the 1588 extension cable.

6 ������ �������� ��� ������������ Warn ing: •
To minimize the risk of infection, clean and disinfect the extension cable prior to the first use and after every subsequent use. Clean and disinfect the device as soon as reasonably practical following use.
•
Wear protective equipment (gloves, eye protection, etc.) and observe facility protocol when handling any device that may be contaminated with blood or fluids capable of transmitting bloodborne pathogens.
•
To avoid electric shock, separate the extension cable from the camera control unit and the camera head before cleaning and disinfecting.
Caution: •
DO NOT ste ri lize the device o r i mmerse i t in li quid, or damage will result.
•
Do not reprocess the device in an automated washerdisinfector.
•
Do not wipe the cable connector pins during cleaning and disinfection.
•
Do not use brushes or pads with metal or abrasive tips during manual cleaning, as permanent scoring or damage could result.
•
Damage incurred by improper cleaning and disinfection will not be covered by the warranty.

Clean and disinfect the extension cable using a germicidal disposable wipe according to the manufacturer’s instructions.1 1 Cleaning and Disinfection were validated using PDI® Sani-Cloth® AF3 Germicidal Disposable Wipes.
When using PDI® Sani-Cloth® AF3 Germicidal Disposable Wipes: 1.
C l e a n i n g a n d D e o d o r i z i n g : Wipe surface with towelette to remove heavy soil until visibly clean. Let air dry.

T o D i s i n f e c t : Unfold a clean wipe and thoroughly wet surface. Treated surface must remain visibly wet for a full three (3) minutes. Use additional wipe(s) if needed to assure continuous three (3) minute wet contact time. Let air dry.

7 ����������� 7.1
Inspection
Inspect the device on a continual basis. If a problem is observed or suspected, the device should be returned to Stryker for evaluation and/or repair.
7.2
Storage
Store the device in a dry, clean, and dust-free environment at room temperatures.
7.3
Preventive Maintenance
The device requires no routine maintenance. To store or ship the device, package it in its original packaging.
7.4
Expected Service Life
The device has an expected service life of 1000 uses (2 years based on 10 uses per week).
7.5
Disposal This product contains electrical waste or electronic equipment. It must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste and must be collected separately in accordance with applicable national or institutional related policies relating to obsolete electronic equipment.
The extension cable must be disposed of according to local laws and hospital practices.
