Step 1 Unscrew the thumb screw from the face of the femoral drill guide and release the foot of the femoral drill guide. The instrument is now disassembled.
Step 1 Reinsert the foot of the femoral drill guide and thread the screw through the face of the femoral drill guide. The instrument is now reassembled.

Anterior Bone Mills The Anterior Bone Mills are made up of three subcomponents. The two subcomponents mentioned in the table below can be found in the Oxford Microplasty Tibial Case 2; the anterior bone mills can be found in the size-specific trays.

Step 1 Remove the anterior bone mills by rotating it counterclockwise and pull free. Magnets and pegs are used to hold the cutter in place. Step 2 Pull the outer shaft from the inner shaft. The instrument is now disassembled.
The subcomponents of the anterior bone cutter do not require reassembly and can be placed back into Oxford Microplasty Tibial Case 2 in their designated locations.

Disassembly Step 1 Using the hexagon driver (32-420660) provided in the Oxford Microplasty Tibial Case 1, undo and remove the screw which locks the shield to the outer shell and shaft.
Step 2 Remove the shield from the outer shell. Step 3 Remove the shaft from the outer shell. The instrument is now disassembled.

Assembly Step 1 Insert the shaft into the outer shell, ensuring that the holes on the outer shell align with the screw hole on the shaft.
Step 2 Push the shield over the assembled shaft and outer shell, ensuring that the hole in the shield aligns with the holes on the outer shell and shaft. Step 3 Using the hexagon driver, thread the screw back into the cutter and turn until tightened. The spherical mill is now assembled.

Assembly
Following surgery the sheath covering the cutting teeth can be removed by pulling it slightly away from the teeth, and rotating in a clockwise direction.
The Oxford Fixed Lateral tray was designed to store the cutter and sheath separately. Following cleaning ensure the instruments are clean, and store them in the design holders located in the Oxford Fixed Lateral tray.

Dissassembly Step 1 Using the hexagon driver provided in the Oxford Microplasty Instrument tray remove the two screws holding the rear cover in place and remove the cover.
Step 3 Remove the screw holding the clamp cover and remove the cover. Slide the clamp foot forwards and down to remove it from the main body.
Step 2 Remove the cover and unscrew the adjuster drum.
Step 4 Remove the blue cushion pad using the tip of the hex key in the recess provided. Take care when disengaging the front tab of the blue cushion by pushing it rearwards. The Cementless Inserter is now disassembled.

Assembly Step 1 Slide the blue cushion pad back into place, ensuring that the tab at the front of the cushion pad locates in the recess in the instrument body. Step 2 Place the clamp foot back into the instrument body. Apply the clamp cover and screw using the hex key.
Step 3 Attach the adjuster drum to the clamp foot and screw into place. Step 4 Reapply the back cover and reinstate the two screws to hold the cover in place. The instrument is now reassembled.

Cementless Inserter (Cont.)
Assembly, cont. Previous Instrument Generation There are currently three generations of the Oxford Cementless Inserter in use around the world: • The third and current generation of the instrument requires disassembly, as shown above. It can be distinguished from the 1st and 2nd generation by the fact that it has a long blue inserter foot, while the 1st and 2nd generation have two small inserter cushions. • The second generation of the instrument did require disassembly. The screws on the second generation instrument can be removed and the instrument disassembled, similar to the above instructions.
• The first generation of the instrument does not require disassembly as it does not have any screws which will allow for disassembly. • The blue cushion pads are not intended to be removed from the first and second generation instruments prior to cleaning. If the cushion pads become damaged, they may be removed by unscrewing them from the instrument. Replacement pads are fitted by screwing them into the threaded hole.

Prior to cleaning, the tibial impactor foot should be removed. This can be done by unscrewing the screw and then detaching the foot.
After cleaning, ensure that the instrument is completely dry prior to reassembling. Ensure that the screw is loose. Insert the impactor foot into the impactor and then tighten the screw. Care should be taken not to misplace the tibial impactor foot during decontamination.

The plastic head of the femoral impactor needs to be removed from the metal body prior to cleaning. This can be done by unscrewing the femoral impactor head.
After cleaning ensure that the instrument is completely dry prior to reassembling. The femoral impactor head can be reapplied by screwing it back onto the metal body.

The outershell of the quick release drill chuck can be removed by unscrewing it at the base. Ensure that the outer shell is removed prior to cleaning and sterilization.
Ensure that the instrument is completely dry after cleaning and prior to reassembly. Slide the outershell over the inner piece and tighten at the base.

Oxford Leg Holder
After Use Whenever possible, do not allow blood debris or body fluids to dry onto the instrument. For best results, and to prolong the life of the medical device, reprocess immediately after use. If it cannot be reprocessed immediately, use an enzymatic foam spray cleaner to prevent soil from drying.
Cleaning Item to be cleaned with IPA wipes following use.
